Democrats Are Holding The Senate Floor To Protest

Democrats will try anything just to stop Trump’s decision on DACA program. On Tuesday, the President outraged many Democrats, announcing that the Obama-era immigration program will be repealed.

The Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program allows about 800,000 immigrants brought into the country as children to remain legally. The Justice Department said that DACA will be end in six months and the Congress will came up with a new policy regarding the problem. Also, it was announced that any new DACA applications won’t be accepted from Tuesday onward and also said that any two-year DACA permits expiring after March 5, 2018, would not be renewed.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren called the decision the latest step in the president’s “campaign to turn us against each other.”

“It’s a cold political calculation, and those with money and power have used it time and time and time again to keep us fighting with each other, fighting over religion, fighting over race.[Trump] is failing in his basic moral duty to protect these people.”-said Warren

“If we don’t see a clean DREAM Act in September. We, as the minority here, are prepared to attach it to legislative vehicles in the fall until it passes. These ‘Dreamers’ are Americans in their hearts. They ought to become Americans in the books of law as well,” said Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer

“This decision to end DACA without first ensuring that young people have legal protection is why we are demanding a vote on the DREAM Act as soon as possible,” said Sen. Dianne Feinstein from the Senate floor, also adding that the lawmakers should stop “playing with their lives.”
The DREAM Act would allow people brought to the United States illegally as children to continue to live and work freely in the country, similar to DACA.
