Huckabee Sanders slams reporter for focusing on Trump Jr. meeting and ignoring Democrats’ ties with Russia

Congress has returned to its usual sessions following their summer recess, which means we should be looking at additional theories of the Russian election meddling narrative, despite the lack of compelling evidence to corroborate these accusations.

At a press conference on August 1, a reporter in the White House news room tried to corner press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders with a tricky question about Donald Trump Jr.’s meeting with Russian attorney Natalia Veselnitskaya last year during the presidential race. The reporter’s sleazy attempt, however, was to little avail and Sanders immediately silenced the journalist.

“The only thing I see misleading is a year’s worth of stories that have been fueling a false narrative about this Russia collusion and a phony scandal based on anonymous sources,” said the White House press secretary after she was asked whether Trump Jr. had been lying to the people.

But Sanders would not just leave the issue there. Instead, she used the opportunity to remind everyone in the room, and everyone watching, of the strong links between the Democrats and Russia that everyone seems to be neglecting.

“The Democrats actually colluded with a foreign government like Ukraine,” Sanders continued, “If you want to talk further about a relationship with Russia, look no further than the Clintons.”

The reporter who had asked the question, clearly quite bothered with Sanders’ inquiry, tried to interrupt Sanders as she had once again called the partisan media out on their incompetence to hold all politicians responsible for their wrongdoings.

Sanders mentioned the already too-familiar facts like Clinton’s overpaid addresses to Russia, the notorious uranium agreement and more unresolved activities that surfaced during last year’s presidential election.

“If you want to talk about somebody who’s actually been tough on Russia, look at President Trump,” said Sanders.
